Reading through the Advent this Christmas season, a prominent thought occurred; God entrusted Himself to His own handiwork. It had never stood out before, but to think that “who” God made, He entrusted His Son to inhabit and be cared for by them. What a wonder!
God made mankind, He provided all substance for their life and then God allowed Himself to be trusted into their care, fully and completely. Yes, He’s sovereign. Yes, He’s Mighty. And yes, He still trusted fallen man with “Emmanuel” (God made into human flesh). He became one of us, and He trusted Himself to us.
God still trusts humanity with Himself. As Mary of old carried the Savior in her womb, He still desires to be carried by mankind. He still trusts us to be filled with His Presence and reveal Jesus to those who have never seen Him before.
As God’s handiwork, allow Him to fill you increasingly with His Presence. Become a wise keeper of His Son, Emmanuel, Jesus. He is trusting us to make Him known.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”
